Bay Area’s #1 NFI Certified Gas Fireplace Service & Repair Company

Serving San Francisco communities since 2004

Kidd Fireplace offers NFI certified gas fireplace services and repairs.

A NFI certified fireplace technician is a professional who has achieved certification from the National Fireplace Institute (NFI), a recognized authority in the field of fireplace and stove installation and maintenance. This certification is a mark of expertise and commitment to high standards in the industry.

Fireplace manufacturers strongly recommend homeowners hire NFI certified technicians to work on their hearth appliances.

We are fully licensed, insured, and compliant with all regulations.

Our team are experts in the field.

What are the NFI Certification Requirements?

  1. Comprehensive Training: NFI certification involves rigorous training programs that cover various aspects of fireplace systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. Technicians are educated on different types of fireplaces, stoves, and inserts, encompassing gas, wood and pellet models.
  2. Examination: Candidates must pass a detailed examination to become certified. This exam tests their knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and best practices for fireplace installation and maintenance. It ensures that certified technicians have a deep understanding of technical and safety issues related to fireplaces.
  3. Continued Education: To maintain certification, technicians are required to engage in ongoing education. This helps them stay updated on the latest industry standards, technological advancements, and changes in building codes or safety regulations.

Benefits of Hiring a NFI Certified Technician
